24 Hour Emergency Water Filter Installation and Repairs

Water going where it should not be? Do this first.

Turn off the isolation valve. On an under-sink system it is the small tap on the pipe feeding the filter, inside the cupboard. On a whole-house system it is on the inlet at the unit. If you cannot find it or it will not turn, go to the water meter at the front of the property and shut the main off there.

Then call 0421 601 540. Any hour, any day. A licensed plumber answers.

Filtration failures do not keep business hours. A housing seal that lets go at 11pm empties into a kitchen cupboard all night. A café that cannot produce filtered water cannot open in the morning. A boil water notice lands and the system you relied on is suddenly the thing you need checked first.

We take emergency calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across Sydney Metro and Greater Sydney. Our booking line runs 7am to 5pm Monday to Saturday for quotes, servicing and planned installations. Outside those hours the same number reaches us for genuine emergencies.

What we treat as an emergency

  • A leaking or burst filter housing. The most common overnight call we get. Plastic housings crack when over-tightened, and O-rings fail after a cartridge change.
  • Water in the under-sink cupboard. Whether it is the filter, a push-fit fitting or the tap, it needs isolating before it reaches the floor and the cabinetry.
  • A reverse osmosis system running continuously to drain. Not a flood, but it can waste thousands of litres over a weekend and it will show up on your bill.
  • No water at all after a filter or system failure, particularly on a whole-house unit where the filter sits in the path of the entire property.
  • A boil water notice or suspected contamination. Your system may need bypassing, sanitising or its cartridges changed before the water is usable again.
  • Storm, flood or bushfire affecting tank or bore supply. Runoff, ash and silt overwhelm sediment stages quickly, and a compromised tank needs treatment before anyone drinks from it.
  • Commercial premises that cannot trade. Cafés, restaurants, medical practices, gyms and childcare centres where filtered water is not optional.
  • A failed system in a rental or a property about to settle, where the timing is genuinely not movable.

What is not an emergency, honestly

We would rather tell you than charge you an after-hours rate for something that can wait until morning:

  • A cartridge that is due for replacement, even if the water tastes off.
  • Slightly reduced pressure with no leak.
  • A slow reverse osmosis tap, which is usually storage tank air pressure.
  • Cloudy water that clears when it stands in a glass, which is dissolved air.

If you call at 2am with one of these, we will tell you it can wait, talk you through anything you can check yourself, and book you in at the normal rate. See Help & Support for the troubleshooting steps.

What happens when you call

  1. You get a plumber, not a call centre. We ask what you are seeing and whether the water is off. If it is not, we talk you through isolating it before anything else.
  2. We tell you honestly whether it needs someone now. Plenty of calls are resolved on the phone in five minutes.
  3. If it needs attendance, you get a price before we leave. The after-hours callout rate is quoted up front, not discovered on the invoice. If parts are needed and we are not certain, we tell you the range and confirm on site.
  4. We make it safe first, then make it work. Stopping the water and protecting the property comes before restoring filtration.

What we can and cannot do overnight

Being straight about this saves everyone a wasted callout.

What we can do at any hour

  • Stop the leak and isolate the system.
  • Bypass a failed filter so the property has water again, even if it is unfiltered until we return.
  • Replace common housings, seals, cartridges, taps and push-fit fittings from stock on the vehicle.
  • Assess whether the water is safe to use, and tell you plainly if it is not.
  • Sanitise and recommission a system after a contamination event.

What usually waits for the next working day

  • Proprietary or imported parts that no supplier stocks overnight.
  • A full system replacement, as opposed to making the property safe and watered.
  • Anything needing a Sydney Water application, backflow registration or a trade waste variation. See Applications & Approvals.
  • Electrical work, which requires a licensed electrician.

The practical outcome of most overnight calls is that the leak stops, the property has running water, and the permanent fix happens in daylight with the right part.

Emergency installation, not just repair

Sometimes the emergency is that there is no filtration and there needs to be. A boil water notice, a contaminated tank after a storm, a bore that has turned, or a commercial kitchen that has just failed an inspection. We carry common whole-house and under-sink systems and can install same day or overnight where the situation warrants it, using WaterMark-certified components and issuing a Certificate of Compliance the same as any other job.

An emergency does not mean a corner-cutting installation. It means a faster one.

Where we attend

Sydney Metro and Greater Sydney for 24 hour callouts. Regional NSW is covered for planned work and scheduled service runs, and we will always tell you honestly whether we can reach you tonight or whether you are better served by a local plumber to make it safe. See service areas for the full list.

If you are outside our callout range and the water is escaping, shut the main off at the meter and call your nearest licensed plumber. We would rather say that than let a property flood while you wait for us.

What it costs

After-hours attendance carries a callout rate above our standard pricing, which is normal for any trade and reflects the hour. What is not normal, and what we do not do, is discovering the number afterwards. You are told the callout rate on the phone before we get in the vehicle, and any parts or additional work are priced before they happen.

If the fault turns out to be our own workmanship, there is no charge at any hour. That is what the lifetime labour warranty means. See Returns & Refunds.

Preventing the 2am call

  • Know where your isolation valve is before you need it. Find it now, in daylight, and check it turns.
  • Change cartridges on schedule. Most overnight failures are a housing that has been opened, or a cartridge run long past its life.
  • Hand-tighten housings only. Over-tightening cracks plastic, and the crack often shows up hours later.
  • Look in the cupboard occasionally. A slow weep found early is a five minute fix.
  • Commercial premises: book planned servicing. A scheduled cartridge change costs a fraction of a Saturday morning callout with the doors shut.
