Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Water Filtration Sydney (ABN 98 700 073 016) (we, us, our) provides water filtration supply, installation and servicing across Sydney and regional New South Wales. This policy explains how we handle personal information, and applies to this website and to the work we do for you.

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

We only collect personal information we actually need in order to quote for, carry out and stand behind our work. That is generally:

  • Contact details: your name, phone number and email address.
  • Location details: your suburb, and for booked work the street address where the installation or service is to happen.
  • Enquiry details: the type of filtration you are asking about, and anything else you choose to tell us in the message field, by phone or by email.
  • Job records: quotes, invoices, photographs of the installed work, equipment and cartridge details, and service history for the property.

We do not collect sensitive information as that term is defined in the Privacy Act, and we do not ask for it. We do not collect payment card details through this website.

How we collect it

Usually directly from you: through the quote form on this website, by phone, by email, by SMS, or in person at your property. If someone else refers you to us (a builder, a real estate agent, a strata manager or a previous customer), we may receive your contact details from them so we can get in touch.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, book and carry out the work, order the right equipment, invoice you, honour our warranty, remind you when a cartridge is due for replacement, and keep the records we are required to keep as a licensed plumbing contractor. We also use it to answer questions and resolve complaints.

If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to quote accurately or carry out the work.

Marketing

We may contact you about servicing or cartridge replacement for equipment we have installed for you, because that is directly related to work you have engaged us for and you would reasonably expect it. Every such message will tell you how to opt out, and we will stop if you ask us to. We do not sell, rent or trade your contact details to anyone for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only where it is necessary:

  • Web3Forms: the service that delivers this website's quote form to our inbox. Form submissions pass through and are processed on its servers, which are located outside Australia, including in the United States. By submitting the form you consent to that overseas disclosure. We do not control Web3Forms' own handling of data; see its privacy policy for details.
  • Cloudflare: this website is served through Cloudflare's global network, so request data (including your IP address) is processed on servers outside Australia in the ordinary course of delivering the site to you.
  • Suppliers and manufacturers: where a warranty claim, a special order or a product registration requires it.
  • Subcontractors: where a licensed tradesperson is engaged to help complete your job.
  • Our accountant, insurer or lawyers, and anyone we are required or authorised by law to disclose to.

Cookies and website analytics

This website does not set cookies, does not use local or session storage, and carries no analytics, advertising or social media tracking scripts. Our hosting provider processes standard server request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and delivery purposes. If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will update this policy before doing so.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This website is served over HTTPS only. Access to our records is limited to the people who need it to do their job.

We keep job records for as long as we may need them for warranty, tax, insurance and licensing purposes. For installation work this is generally at least seven years, and longer where a warranty is still on foot. When information is no longer needed for any purpose for which it may lawfully be used, we destroy or de-identify it.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will act in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Email quote@waterfiltration.sydney or call 0421 601 540. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. There is no fee for making a request; if the request is substantial we may charge a reasonable cost of retrieval, and we will tell you before we do.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at quote@waterfiltration.sydney so we can try to sort it out. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
