Licensing, Insurance and Transparency
Most plumbing sites say "licensed and insured" and leave it there. This page gives you the actual numbers, so you can check them yourself rather than take our word for it. If anything here does not match what you find on the public register, we want to hear about it.

Connecting filtration to a drinking water supply is plumbing work, and NSW requires a licence for it, residential or commercial. If a quote you have received elsewhere does not carry a licence number, ask why before you accept it.
What compliance actually means on your job
- WaterMark certified components throughout, as the National Construction Code requires for anything carrying or contacting drinking water.
- Installed to AS/NZS 3500, the plumbing and drainage standard.
- Certificate of Compliance issued where the work requires one, and a copy kept on your job file.
- Backflow prevention matched to the hazard rating, registered with Sydney Water and tested annually where a testable device is fitted.
The detail, including which approvals apply to which jobs and who issues them, is on our Applications & Approvals page.
3. Independent ratings
We do not host our own review widget or curate what appears in it. These are third-party platforms where the reviews sit outside our control:
- Google 5.0
- ProvenExpert 4.8
- Trustpilot 4.5
Ratings move. If the figure here is out of date, the platform is right and we are wrong, so check the source.
4. Certifications and memberships
- NSW Licensed Plumber, Contractor Licence and Qualified Supervisor No. 358626C.
- Master Plumbers Association NSW member.
- AGA listed gas fitter, relevant where a system interacts with gas hot water.
- WaterMark certified components on every installation.
5. What it costs
Most plumbing sites will not put a number on a page. Here are ours. They are genuine ranges from work we actually do, not a teaser figure with the real price waiting behind a phone call.
Typical installed price by system type
| System | Installed | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Basic sediment filter | $850 to $2,400 | Removing dirt, rust and large suspended particles from mains water |
| Standard or dual-stage carbon and sediment | $1,000 to $6,500 | Reducing chlorine, bad taste, odour and fine sediment on standard municipal town water |
| Rainwater filtration with UV sterilisation | $1,480 to $5,000 | Rural and off-grid properties on tank water that need bacteria and pathogens disinfected |
| Advanced multi-stage and ultrapure | $2,700 to $6,800+ | Comprehensive reduction of heavy metals, fluoride, viruses and chemicals |
| Whole-house water softener | $2,500 to $6,000 | Hard water areas with high calcium and magnesium content |
Ranges are wide because the same system costs different amounts to fit in different properties. Where the meter sits, what the existing pipework is made of, whether there is space and power at the mounting point, and how far the run is to the kitchen all move the number. That is what the site inspection is for.
What makes up the price
| Component | Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment | $2,450 to $6,500 | Basic single or twin big-white filter units sit below this range. Advanced systems with UV or a softener sit at the top of it. |
| Installation labour | $300 to $1,500 | A licensed plumber must carry out the work. Using anyone else voids the equipment warranty and is not compliant in NSW. |
| Annual maintenance | $100 to $500 per year | Replacement cartridges. Driven by your water quality and usage more than by the calendar. |
The third row is the one most quotes leave out, and it is the one that decides what a system really costs you. A cheap unit with expensive proprietary cartridges is not cheap over five years. We show the cartridge cost next to the installed price at quote stage so you can compare properly.
Our one fixed package price
The Whole Home + Kitchen RO Bundle is $5,500 installed for a standard installation, against a usual price of $7,000. Filtered water through the whole house plus a dedicated reverse osmosis tap at the kitchen bench, as one job at one price.
How we quote
- Quotes are free, with no call-out fee to prepare one and no obligation.
- The installed price is fixed for the scope in the quote, not an hourly rate. Variations are priced and approved before the work happens, never discovered on the invoice.
- Cartridge costs are disclosed at quote stage, per cartridge.
- After-hours callout rates are quoted on the phone before we attend. See emergency callouts.
- All prices include GST unless the quote says otherwise.
The figures on this page are indicative and current at 4 September 2026. They are not a quote and not an offer. The only price you can rely on is the one in a written quote we have given you, which is fixed for the scope it describes. See our Terms of Sale and Website Disclaimer.
6. Warranties
- Lifetime warranty on our installation labour, for as long as the system stays in the property we installed it in and is not altered by someone else.
- 3 year manufacturer warranty on the equipment we typically supply. We handle the claim with the manufacturer, you do not.
- Cartridges are consumables and are not covered, because reaching the end of a rated service life is not a fault.
Exclusions and how to claim are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
7. What we will tell you that costs us money
Transparency is easy when it flatters you. These are the ones that do not:
- Reverse osmosis is often overkill on good Sydney town water. A well-specified carbon block gets most of the benefit for a lower installed cost, cheaper cartridges and no water sent to drain.
- Some jobs do not need us at all. If your problem is a cartridge due for replacement, we will say so rather than quote a new system.
- Not every emergency is an emergency. Call us at 2am with a spent cartridge and we will tell you it can wait, at the normal rate in the morning.
- Performance depends on your water. We will not warrant a particular test result unless we have tested your supply and agreed it in writing.
8. If we get it wrong
Tell us first, directly, and early. Our complaints process sets out the timeframes we hold ourselves to and where to escalate if we cannot resolve it, including NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20.
